In short
AI search training teaches your in-house marketing team how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews choose businesses, and what to change on your site and profiles. Vatam delivers workshops and team sessions in person in Kigali or online across Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, as a one-off that also prepares you for ongoing work.
What is AI search training?
AI search training is a practical course for your marketing team on how AI assistants decide which businesses to name, and how to improve your odds. It covers the playbook we use ourselves, in plain language, with work your team can do the week after.
It is for people who already run your marketing, content or website. A Nairobi fintech marketing team, a Kigali hotel group, a Kampala law firm’s business development staff or a Dar es Salaam tour operator’s reservations and content people would all fit.
What does the training cover?
We keep the programme short on theory and long on examples from your own business.
- How AI engines pick businesses: what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews appear to rely on, and where SEO, AEO and GEO differ.
- Answer-first writing: how to structure a page so the first sentence answers the question.
- Schema basics: what structured data is, which types matter for your sector, and how to check it.
- Review and entity hygiene: keeping Google Business Profile, directories and brand descriptions consistent, and asking for reviews properly.
- Measuring: building a simple prompt panel and reading Search Console alongside it.
How is it different for East African teams?
Teams here often run marketing with a small headcount and a lot of channels, so training has to fit into the work, not sit on top of it. Examples use East African buyer questions, languages and platforms, including WhatsApp and Google Business Profile, rather than generic US cases.
| Team | Typical focus |
|---|---|
| Kigali hotels and tour companies | International traveller prompts, entity consistency and review strategy |
| Nairobi fintech and financial services | Comparison content, compliance-aware writing and trust signals |
| Kampala professional services | Answer-first guidance pages and local profile accuracy |
| Dar es Salaam operators and agencies | Swahili and English content planning and measuring bookings |
What formats are available?
We run workshops and team training sessions, either in person in Kigali or online for teams in Nairobi, Kampala, Dar es Salaam and elsewhere. The length and number of sessions are set after we learn your team’s size, your site and your starting point.
The sessions are led by founder Victor Olanrewaju, who has six years in editorial and SEO and is HubSpot SEO certified. If your team can share Search Console access beforehand, the examples can come from your own site.
What do we do, step by step?
- Scoping call. We learn your team, tools, markets and goals.
- Pre-work. A light version of the AI visibility audit, so the training uses your real results.
- Delivery. Workshop or sessions, with exercises done on your own pages.
- Handover. Templates and checklists your team keeps.
- Follow-up. A short check-in to answer questions as the team puts it into practice.
What do you receive and how do we measure it?
| What we do | What you get | How we measure |
|---|---|---|
| Scoped programme | An agreed outline and schedule for your team | Agreed in writing before we start |
| Delivery | Slides, worked examples from your site, and exercises | Exercises completed on your real pages |
| Toolkit | Answer-first page template, schema checklist, review request and reply templates, starter prompt panel | Whether your team uses them in the following weeks |
| Action list | A prioritised list for your next 90 days | Progress against that list at the follow-up check-in |
Training outcomes are your team’s skills and actions. We do not claim a training session alone raises citations, though the toolkit, including a version of the method behind the Lens & Co and LAGE Lightings work, gives your team a way to start.
What are the honest limits?
Training transfers knowledge. It does not do the work for you, and a team with no time to apply it will see little change. It is also not a certification, and we cannot promise ranking or AI mentions from running it.
Some tasks, such as technical fixes on a complex site, are better handled by us or a developer than taught. We tell you which is which.
Want to bring your team up to speed? Start with the free AI visibility audit, then contact Vatam to scope a session.
Where does it sit in the packages?
Training is a separate one-off, not part of the AI Visibility Audit, Foundation build or Growth retainer. Many teams use it to get an in-house person ready before a Foundation build, or to run some of the work themselves while we handle the rest.
If you later want ongoing help, the monthly Growth retainer includes AI visibility tracking and content marketing. Browse the sectors we cover on the industries page.
Frequently asked questions
Who should attend an AI search workshop?
Marketing managers, content writers, web managers and business owners who control your site, profiles and content. Mixing marketing with whoever updates the website works well, because the changes cross both roles. Senior leaders can attend a shorter overview of what to expect and measure.
Do you run training in person or online?
Both. In-person sessions are delivered in Kigali, and online sessions work for teams in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania or elsewhere. Online sessions use shared screens and live exercises on your own pages, so the experience stays practical and not a lecture.
Does the training replace hiring an agency?
It can for some businesses, and for others it prepares the team to work with an agency better. If you have time and people, you can do much of the work yourselves. If you do not, ongoing support is more realistic. We tell you honestly which fits.
Will my team learn to track ChatGPT and Gemini results?
Yes. We teach how to build a fixed prompt panel, how to record answers with dates, how to calculate citation share and how to read it next to Search Console. We also explain why AI answers vary, so your team reads results sensibly and does not overreact.
Can the training be customised for my industry?
Yes. We use examples and prompts from your sector, such as hospitality, real estate, fintech, healthcare or professional services. Healthcare and finance content follows your compliance rules and the regulator's advertising guidance, and your own specialists review claims.
